i just finished putting away groceries from trader joe's, the world's best grocery store. everything is organic and fresh, and everything is relatively inexpensive. we always get lots of chicken, fish, vegetables, cereal fruit and wine. and then we throw in the randoms -- blueberry whole wheat frozen waffles, chips & salsa, some nice looking bread, little boxes of dry asian ingredients that will hopefully become a nice lunch in the microwave at school upon being introduced to foggy tap water. dish soap.
new year's eve we ate a mountain of italian food and played assorted drinking games at our friends' place west of here. it had been ages since i'd taken a beer bong, and that night i took two. this wasn't my decision. i was only trying to play the game according to how libby set it up. the first one went down like a teaspoon of sugar. the second resulted in a geiser like explosion. beer bongs are tricky, because they're not something you can (or should) practice to get good at. maybe there are college kids out there secretly practicing with things like lemonade. actually, diet coke might be better -- zero calories but plenty of bubbles for authenticity. ridiculous.
tonight we're getting together with another set of friends of ours -- a couple that recently got engaged. i have to straighten my hair and change.
